jessicarlo.blogspot.com - Once upon a time there was a princess who met her prince charming… You know the story, it’s love at first sight, and they get married and then live happily ever after. But what about the inlaws? What ever happened to them?
Umm – Cinderella your stepmother and your stepsisters are CRAY CRAY. No way that Prince Charming is saying ‘Yes, my lovely wife I would really like to spend Christmas with your step sisters and their awesome husbands and their awesome kids.’
And don’t be thinking it’s all roses for the Huntsman and Snow White. There is a reason that his family never makes an appearance in the story… they wouldn’t be married if she’d met them earlier!
Sleeping Beauty – she thought that everything was looking rosy. She was a princess, he was a prince – how different could their families be? She thought that they thought the same about white horses, turrets at the tops of castles and beheadings.
They had similar childhoods, were raised to be royalty, his father is a King for god’s sake – but he is a drunken weirdo, who makes crase jokes, and she will never leave her children alone with him!
Everyone knows the tale of Beauty and the Beast… what they don’t know about the Beast is that the real beast in the story was his brother’s wife! Her ugly personality was a million times worse then the Beast’s looks could have ever been.
Everyone thinks that once you meet your ‘prince charming’ that everything will fall into place. There will be love and laughter and life ‘happily ever after’… But what happens when this isn’t the case?
And when it has nothing to do with your ‘prince charming’ and everything to do with your inlaws – which you didn’t really factor into the equation when you were planning your ‘fairy-tale wedding’.
This is real life and there isn’t going to be a fairy godmother coming along anytime soon to wave her wand and ease your woes.
Did your fairy-tale turn out how you expected? Or did your fairy-tale flop?
Do you have an issue with an inlaw? And if so, how are you dealing with it?
